Karel van Oosterom has worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 40 years in various roles. Since 1998, he has held several leadership positions, ranging from head of department to director-general in The Hague, and abroad as deputy head of mission to ambassador in London. From 2013 to 2020, he served as the Permanent Representative of the Netherlands to the United Nations and represented the Netherlands on the Security Council for a year (see his book “ With an Orange Tie: A year on the Security Council”, Amazon, 2020).

Fred Lafeber has over 30 years of experience working across multiple ministries in The Hague (Economic Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Finance, and Health, Welfare and Sport). At the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport he held various mid-level leadership roles, including head of department and project manager. He currently works at the World Health Organization office in Copenhagen
